This poster series uses typography and color as a metaphor to show the negative impact that non-native species have on the biodiversity of the environments they invade. In the first panel, the orange title is bleeding onto the page around it, encroaching on the informational body text, much like invasive species’ tendency to take over their surrounding area and get in the way of what is naturally there. In the middle panel, I used letters and phrases to visually represent this takeover, and I introduce the orange X as a symbol for an invasive animal. Reading from top to bottom, the diversity of letters eventually gets overtaken by one interrupting character. The third panel utilizes only letterforms to display the same idea.
